We spent 9 nights at Glenyan RV Park and Campground and enjoyed our stay. It’s located just outside of Ashland Oregon. Ashland, Oregon is a cute little town known to host a Shakespeare festival most of the year. For more detail about the specifics of this RV park, sites, and amenities – including pros and cons – read on.

Location of Glenyan RV Park (now Ashland's Creekside Campground

This RV park is located in south-southwest Oregon, just a few miles off Interstate 5 on Highway 66. Near Ashland Oregon, this campground is very easy to access for any RV if traveling here via I-5.  There are fuel stations within a couple miles, and a grocery stores and restaurants within a 10 minute drive of the campground. So you will have easy access to replenish supplies when staying here.  It is a short drive into downtown Ashland for great restaurants, to see plays, or other entertainment.

Glenyan RV Park and campground is also less than a 30 minute drive from Medford and Jacksonville. Jacksonville is home to the Britt music festival every summer. The festival attracts some pretty big names to it’s small outdoor venue.

Area Attractions

The main attraction to the area is Ashland Oregon and its Shakespeare festival that runs most of the year.  There is also nearby historic Jacksonville and it’s summer music festival called the Britt. The Britt music festival attracts some big shows to it’s small outdoor venue.

There is a beautiful lake and recreation area only a mile or two from the campground as well.  Great biking for road cyclists in the area, and great dining in downtown Ashland.  Also, one of our favorite National Parks, Crater Lake, is a relatively short drive from here.  Gorgeous!

Amenities at Glenyan RV Park / Ashland's Creekside Campgound

Glenyan RV Park and campground has a playground, basketball court, game room and an outdoor pool.  The welcome center has a small store in it with a few basic supplies and snacks.  RV sites have cable TV, and a wireless internet hotspot. But we didn’t try either of those.

There are 2 restroom/shower buildings, and a laundry room.  Propane filling is available from the welcome center when they are open.  Glenyan RV Park and campground is a pretty small, family owned facility. So one would not expect big fancy amenities.  It is really pleasant here, and is a great location for exploring the area attractions. There are some beautiful large trees in the campground. But one of our favorite things, are the massive blackberry bushes loaded with berries that we pick every day we stay at this campground.

Mail / Packages

I think we did receive packages here. But be sure to check with the staff before having something shipped here.

WIFI / Cable

The campground offers free cable TV, and a wireless hotspot but we didn’t try either of them.  We used our own cellular data for connectivity.  T-mobile was very unreliable, but Verizon was reliable with 2 bars LTE.  Cable TV has about 30 channels.

RV Sites at Ashland's Creekside Campground / Glenyan RV Resort and Campground

This is a small, family owned campground with 40-50 RV sites and 20 tent sites.  The main road through the campground is paved, and the sites are well maintained gravel.  Most of the sites are pretty level throughout the park.  There are about a half dozen RV sites that seem to be occupied by long term guests. But most RV sites are for travelers.

Glenyan RV Park and Campground has about 6 pull through sites located to the right as you come into the campground. Those RV sites have fewer trees and are closer to the road.  Most sites in the RV park are back in sites. Many back up to a wonderful creek that creates a peaceful waterfall sound if you are able to get one of those sites.  All sites are 30 amp.  About 10 of the sites are full hook up, and the remaining sites are water, electric and cable.  There is a dump station near the campground exit for those who do not have full hook up sites.

PROS

  • Proximity to Ashland, Jacksonville, and a beautiful lake recreation area
  • Scenic surroundings
  • Creek side campsites are shaded and have nice sound from the creek

CONS

  • Pull through sites near front hear the road instead of the creek and have less shade
  • Most sites don’t have sewer hook up, if you are staying a longer time
  • 30 amp electric if big rig.

Summary

Glenyan RV Park is a cute little family owned campground that we have stayed at twice now.  We really like the area a lot, and the owners of the campground are very friendly and welcoming.  It isn’t a big fancy park, but we really like it.

About our stay

This is our second time visiting this Glenyan RV park near Ashland Oregon.  The first time was 3 years ago, but both visits were in late July. That is a great time to visit because the blackberries are in season.  We enjoyed going to downtown Ashland and to the Britt music festival.  During our most recent stay, we saw the Revolotion (formerly Prince and the Revolution). The calendar was full of big names all summer.  We had a special treat on this visit to Glenyan because some great friends were also staying here for a few days.

Our stay was nine nights but with a split booking. So we needed to change sites half way through.  This was fine though because we would have wanted to break camp to dump tanks anyway.  We love this area and will likely be staying here again in the future.
