idea is too good
We use RV Life Pro for our trip planning and Garmin RV GPS 795 once we hit the road. Both take our RV specs into account and keep us off roads we have no business traveling. Does Adventure Genie use our RV specs to make sure we don’t go on roads with low bridges or have weight restrictions? The option to import data into Garmin with a trip route sounds like a great feature.
Hi there, I double checked with the team at Adventure Genie to confirm this before replying… and here is what they said:
1) We absolutely capture their RV specs in a user’s Profile Settings
2) AG’s routing software is configured for 18-wheelers, so it routes safely for the largest RVs
3) AG has the ability to export routes to Garmin – in very technical speak, AG supplies Garmin with routing coordinates, so be advised that Garmin may choose an alternate route than what AG may display in the Trip Planner. The Garmin, if set up properly, should be used as the primary routing software more precisely configured to their RV when on the road.”
We also use and love RV LIFE Pro, and have just start using it to export our RV Trip Wizard trip into AdventureGenie, so we can add more exciting things to our itinerary along the way that are personalized to our preferences. They are two different platforms, but both have a lot of value and we now use both for our entire trip planning process. Hope this helps! – J

Thank you for the detailed article on AdventureGenie. Just curious whether it can be used with Android or do you have to use trip planning on a laptop? Also if the itinerary give you a couple of choices and can you change certain roads along the way?
